Steampunk Movies

Steampunk in movies goes back much further than it does in literature. According to a list on IMDB.com, the earliest steampunk movie, Metropolis, was filmed in 1927. The next movie released wasn't until 1954: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The portrayal of steampunk in movies gained popularity in the 1980's and continues today. These movies are for a wide range of ages and include animated and live action.
